PERT/PEX underfloor heating pipe extrusion line with precision extrusion, calibration, cooling, enclosed traction and double-station coiling.

PERT/PEX Underfloor Heating Pipe Extrusion Line

The PERT/PEX Underfloor Heating Pipe Extrusion Line is configured for flexible heating pipe supplied in coils for radiant floor-heating and low-temperature hot-water systems.

The pictured equipment combines a single screw extruder, dedicated pipe die, vacuum calibration, staged water cooling, enclosed belt traction and double-station winding for stable continuous production.

PE-RT is processed as a thermoplastic. PEX production must be configured around the specified crosslinking route and certified compound; for example, PEX-b normally requires a controlled post-crosslinking stage after extrusion.

Applications

  • PE-RT underfloor heating pipe
  • PEX-b radiant heating pipe
  • Low-temperature hot-water heating tube
  • Coiled building-services pipe
  • Single-layer or oxygen-barrier heating pipe

Technical Features

  • Continuous small-diameter heating-pipe production
  • Stable vacuum sizing and staged cooling
  • Enclosed traction for consistent line speed
  • Double-station coiling for continuous collection
  • Single-layer and project-specific barrier-layer options

Optional Equipment

  • Gravimetric dosing system
  • Color-stripe or EVOH barrier-layer co-extrusion system
  • Online laser diameter gauge
  • Laser or inkjet printer
  • Industrial water chiller
  • PEX post-crosslinking equipment when required by the selected process

How to Choose

  1. Confirm PE-RT or the required PEX crosslinking method and provide the approved material grade.
  2. Define pipe OD, wall thickness, dimensional tolerance and applicable pressure or heating-pipe standard.
  3. Confirm single-layer, color-stripe or oxygen-barrier layer structure.
  4. Provide target output, line speed, coil length, coil dimensions and packaging method.
  5. For PEX, define the required crosslinking degree, verification method and post-treatment route.

Main Equipment and Process

Core units are configured according to pipe material, diameter, layer structure, output target and downstream collection method.

Single screw extruder for PERT PEX underfloor heating pipe

Single Screw Extruder

The extruder plasticizes the selected PE-RT or compatible PEX compound under a material-specific temperature and screw-speed profile. The screw, drive and feeding system are selected from the required output and compound supplier guidance.

PERT PEX heating pipe extrusion die head

PERT/PEX Pipe Die Head

The dedicated annular die forms the required pipe OD, ID and wall thickness. Tooling is configured for the material, pressure class and any color-stripe or barrier-layer structure.

Vacuum calibration tank for PERT PEX heating pipe

Vacuum Calibration Tank

Initial vacuum sizing establishes outside diameter and roundness while controlled water circulation removes the first stage of process heat.

Spray cooling tank for PERT PEX underfloor heating pipe

Spray Cooling Tank

The downstream cooling section continues controlled heat removal so the flexible pipe reaches a stable temperature before traction and winding.

Enclosed belt haul-off for PERT PEX heating pipe

Enclosed Belt Haul-off

Synchronized belts provide steady traction without damaging the pipe surface. Haul-off speed is coordinated with melt output to control wall thickness and dimensional stability.

Double station coiler for PERT PEX underfloor heating pipe

Double-Station Pipe Coiler

The finished pipe is measured and collected on a double-station coiler. Coil dimensions and length control are configured for the required delivery and packaging format.

FAQ

Can one standard machine process both PE-RT and every type of PEX?

No universal configuration should be assumed. PE-RT is thermoplastic, while PEX-a, PEX-b and PEX-c use different crosslinking routes. The approved compound, crosslinking method and product standard must be confirmed before the equipment scope is selected.

Can the line produce oxygen-barrier underfloor heating pipe?

A barrier-layer co-extrusion system can be engineered when the layer materials, adhesive system, thickness ratios and qualification standard are provided.

What information is required for a quotation?

Please provide the material grade, pipe OD and wall thickness, layer structure, target output, applicable standard, crosslinking route for PEX, finished coil dimensions, voltage and plant water conditions.
